Friday night’s Woodstock Arts Lantern Series concert was nothing short of magical. A capacity crowd gathered under the stars, where the warm glow of lanterns set the stage for an evening of exuberant jazz. Sam Skelton and the GSO Jazz! big band delivered with creativity and confidence, performing dynamic suites from legends like Ellington, Basie, and more, earning enthusiastic applause from start to finish.
The evening began with a lively pre-concert gathering at the Reeves House, where longtime supporters, partners, and new fans came together. Guests enjoyed delicious food and live music from GYSO alum Ryan Dater, while conductor Tim Verville offered a preview of the exciting season ahead. Executive Director Suzanne Tucker thanked the community for their support and encouraged everyone to secure tickets for what promises to be a landmark season in GSO’s history.
It was an unforgettable night of music, community, and celebration.
