Adventure Awaits! — And What an Adventure It Was
More than 500 members of our community joined the GSO for two performances of Adventure Awaits!—our Sensory Friendly and Family Concerts. With both performances fully reserved well before concert day, families came ready to explore, experience live orchestral music, visit the Instrument Petting Zoo, and even meet Sir Conductsalot (otherwise known as Music Director Timothy Verville!).
But the best part of the day was hearing what the experience meant to families. One parent shared that they “were welcome to come just as we are,” while another described bringing her son to his very first concert and said the experience had “opened up our sense of what’s possible for our family.”
We are deeply grateful to Arylessence and Spellers Center Atlanta, whose sponsorship made our Sensory Friendly performance free to the community, and to United Contractor Services for generously sponsoring our Family Concert. Their support helps us create opportunities for families to experience the joy—and the belonging—that live music can provide.
