Under sunny skies and surrounded by the beautifully manicured gardens of Brumby Hall, the Georgia Symphony Orchestra’s Jazz & Juleps celebration brought together music, community, and a shared commitment to our mission. The Derby-inspired setting could not have been more perfect-guests arrived in style, donning flamboyant hats, vibrant spring dresses, seersucker suits, Panama hats, and bow ties that added color and charm to an already picturesque afternoon.
This unforgettable event was made possible through the generous support of our sponsors, led by presenting sponsor and co-chair Kim Gresh, alongside co-chair Bob Bonstein. We are deeply grateful to our sponsors SA White, Jim Glover, Jeff and Rose Whittingham, Erica Stein, Paraklete Financial, Georgia Power, Manning Properties, Marietta Meltyard, Metro Bottle, and K Mike Whittle Designs and more, whose partnership helped bring this special day to life.
Mint juleps and curated bourbon tastings set the tone, while GSO Jazz provided the perfect soundtrack, filling the gardens with energy and sophistication. Adding a touch of elegance, members of the GYSO Honors String Quartet and GSO cellist Nirav Patel showcased the artistry at the heart of our educational programs-bringing to life the very work this event was designed to support.
A highlight of the afternoon came as our own bugler, GYSO musician Edward Schilke, called guests to attention, reminding everyone of the purpose behind the celebration: raising funds to ensure that more people in our community can experience the transformative power of music. With enthusiasm and generosity, guests responded. Led by auctioneer Justin Odell, supporters helped raise more than $55,000 to advance the GSO’s mission of accessible music for all.
It was a day filled with beauty, joy, and meaningful impact-and a wonderful reminder of what our community can accomplish together.
