The “Anniversary Songbook” is a collection of the GSO Chorus members’ best loved selections from over the years including the reverent and ridiculous. At the center is Bob Chilcott’s “Little Jazz Mass” featuring piano, bass, and drums that enhance his playful style. Other selections include masterpieces by Mendelssohn and Rheinberger, Lauridsen’s haunting “Sure On This Shining Night,” a touch of Billy Joel, and rollicking folk songs from Newfoundland and North Carolina.
