Corey Barksdale

Corey Barksdale is an Atlanta-based visual artist, illustrator, and muralist whose work captures the spirit, history, and everyday beauty of urban life and culture. Known for bold color, expressive brushwork, and strong narrative elements, his art blends fine art with storytelling rooted in community, music, history, and lived experience.

A graduate of the Atlanta College of Art (now SCAD Atlanta), Barksdale is the
illustrator of the nationally published book The Night Before Freedom. He has created large-scale public murals throughout Atlanta and beyond, contributed artwork for film and movie sets, and partnered with cultural institutions, nonprofits, and corporate brands on commissioned projects.

His work appears in galleries, public spaces, private collections, books, and media productions. Through painting, illustration, mural work, live art, and set design, Corey Barksdale continues to document culture in motion—using art as a visual language that connects people, place, and story.
