It is understood that any candidate auditioning for the position will accept employment. Please do not register/audition if you do not plan to accept employment, should it be offered. No electronic devices are allowed during your audition.
The Audition Committee reserves the right to dismiss any candidate not meeting the highest professional standards at these auditions. Deposit checks will be returned in person at the audition. Electronic deposits will be returned within 3 business days of the audition. Failure to appear constitutes loss of deposit.

Additionally, substitute in all sections/instruments (including those not listed above.)
Volunteer musicians perform on classics, holiday, and special performances. Please note: we may be able to offer compensation on a case-by-case basis for some concerts. In the past, these have included performances with Amy Grant & Michael W. Smith, Zelda Live, Sonic Symphony, Weird Al, and others.
Auditions are held on a rolling basis during the summer and throughout the season. During the audition, Music Director Bryan Black will evaluate vocal range and quality, pitch memory and music-reading skills. Singers should prepare a short selection of their own choice.
Rehearsals for the chorus during the season are held on Tuesdays, 7:30PM-10:00PM at the Marietta Performing Arts Center.

The Georgia Symphony Orchestra welcomes volunteers to assist with the box office and the seating of patrons for each event throughout our season.
As a Georgia Symphony volunteer, you have the opportunity to learn in a variety of different behind-the-scene environments, from working with students in music education programs to raising funds at special benefit events. You also have the chance to meet other people along the way who share your love of symphonic music and your desire to make a difference our community’s cultural life.
Our volunteers are critical to our continued efforts and achieving the mission of your Georgia Symphony Orchestra.
