Come listen to OkCello’s 4th studio album, Funny How Things Work Out—his most personal and ambitious project to date. Spanning a wide range of genres, including gospel, house, rock, dub, ska, classical, and jazz, Funny… takes the listener on a moving journey through places and emotions that feel unexpectedly paired yet unmistakably familiar, like discovering “home” wherever the music allows the ear and mind to rest.
Adding to this special experience, GSO Music Director Timothy Verville will facilitate an engaging conversation with Okorie about the music, the composition process, and the creation and release of the album. Guests will gain an intimate look at the artistic vision behind the work and the stories that shaped its sound world.
And if we’re lucky, Okorie may even perform a couple of tracks live—bringing the album’s spirit to life right in the room.
Join us and be delighted by an evening of artistry, insight, and musical exploration.
