Beethoven’s Universe

Saturday, May 18, 2024

Tickets are available from $15-$45

Discover the vastness of space and the bonds of humankind in this season-ending spectacular performance.

Known for his multimedia virtual choruses, Eric Whitacre’s Deep Field is performed live to the film Deep Field: The Impossible Magnitude of our Universe. Combining stunning imagery from the Hubble Space Telescope and never-seen-before galaxy fly-bys, and bespoke animations, it creates an immersive, unforgettable journey from planet Earth to the furthest edges of our universe. This work for orchestra and chorus will also provide the opportunity for audience members to take a more active role in the performance via a free app on their mobile devices.

Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 stands as one of the greatest human achievements in music. It revels in ideals of joy, freedom, and equality. And embracing these, the soloists for this special performance are selected from a national competition open to any person, adopting a truly equal opportunity for anyone to share the stage with this triumphant music of the human spirit.

Prior to the performance, please download the following free app on your mobile device.
