Two composers separated by continents and time meet in this engaging performance. Amy Beach’s Symphony No. 2 incorporates music of England, Ireland, and Scotland into the first symphony written and published by an American woman composer.

Beethoven’s Violin Concerto in D Major is as timeless as it is technically difficult. The award-winning violinist, Minami Yoshida, joins the GSO for her US debut. Yoshida was a major prize winner at the Montreal and Sibelius competitions and has performed with the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra, Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra, Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal, Tokyo Symphony Orchestra, and others.

For the safety of our audiences, all performances will be socially distanced and will require wearing masks and demonstration of full vaccination status. To learn more, please read our promises to our audiences at www.georgiasymphony.org/safety.
