Dr. Kathryn Encisco is Director of Orchestras at Collins Hill High School in Gwinnett County, where she oversees four orchestras and leads all aspects of the school’s string program. Her dedication to helping young musicians develop confidence, creativity, and a sense of community through music shapes her approach to teaching and ensemble leadership. Prior to joining Collins Hill High School, she served as Director of Orchestras at East Cobb Middle School.

Dr. Encisco holds a Ph.D. and Master of Music Education from Florida State University. She earned her Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Kennesaw State University.

In addition to her classroom work, she coaches sectionals and honor orchestras throughout the Southeast and maintains an active career as a cellist, performing and serving as a clinician. She is excited to return to GYSO after participating in six seasons as a student cellist!
